PERPLEXITY Can Never Replace GOOGLE SEARCH
One company, Perplexity AI, says it has 10 million regular users every month. Another company, Google, says it has over 1.5 billion users every month. News sources say that Perplexity makes a list of results by combining data from the top five Google search engines. Google is the best search engine right now because so many people use it. But the rise of Perplexity AI has made people wonder if it will ever be able to compete with Google.
The more we look at it, the less likely it seems that Perplexity AI will be able to really compete with Google Search any time soon. To begin, Google’s strength is its huge number of loyal users and well-known brand name; billions of people think of “Google” when they go online. If users are used to this system and its features, they would have to change how they use it in order to switch to something else.
A lot of users slow things down, which makes it hard for new companies to enter this market, even ones as creative as Perplexity AI. Google is also strong because it has a wide range of products and services that work well with each other. As an example, Google Search works very well with Gmail, Maps, Docs, and other services.
But as of now, Perplexity doesn’t have a fully finished setting that is as easy to use as Google’s. People who need different services to be able to talk to each other might not want to switch to ones that don’t make it easy for them to do so. Some people might not like Perplexity AI as much because it is mostly used for specific tasks like studying and summarizing a lot of knowledge. Google, on the other hand, can handle everything from simple searches to finding information about your neighborhood business.
Google’s platform has a lot more features than these ones, even though they do seem cutting edge at the moment. For example, they don’t have email access, cloud storage, or full map functions. A lot of people might not want to move to Perplexities’ model because it lacks these features, especially those who don’t want to pay more. Accessibility is a big part of getting and keeping people in ad-supported models. This is a big difference between the two engines.
Is it possible to add new features to search results that show off their unique strengths? Yes, but it doesn’t look like Google will be replaced any time soon. This is because Google has a lot of resources that make it easier for them to adapt to changes in the law. This makes them better than younger companies like Perplexities. As the competition between these platforms grows, the view will change and get better all the time. In this way, your search for the best experience will always be a trip toward perfection.
